  Good hostel! We got a private room in a little 2-room cabin. Cosy and pleasant! Had a fridge, a microwave and couches.

  The outside looks really dodgy but the inside is pretty decent. Linen was provided, toilets were clean, not enough showers for everyone, big kitchen with utensils provided, comfy common room. Reception desk lady was a little rude and condescending though. Overall it was good value for money.

  It is hard to give a negative review on this hostel but even harder to say positive either. Although all amenity is included as a standard youth hostel, the overall facility seems very old and some of these are out of order. I never able to connect to wifi in the lobby or open air as the signal is very weak (no internet coverage in our room at all). Outside our window a machine were making low noise for the whole night, and the bed is uncomfortable that I have a worse sleep during my one-week trip. Despite the date we check in is in peak season, there are only a few guest in the entire building (which seems a little creepy). Staff is friendly but seems a little rush to end conversation. I would like to recommend to avoid the Coles Bay area for sleeping and go little further north to Bicheno for a better and more value-for-money sleep.
