We were very disappointed because paying nearly $300 for a one-night stay at a 4-star retreat, we expected more than just a great view.

We stayed 1 night at Coles Bay Retreat with two couples, only booking the day before our arrival. We were very impressed with the location of the house, its layout and huge windows and the incredible view.

Amazing view, great location. Our group of 5 stayed for 3 nights having booked well in advance. We loved watching the sunset over the Hazards from the open plan living and kitchen area. We especially enjoyed the huge veranda and being able to walk to the boat ramp and nearby beach. On the one day of wet weather during our stay we enjoyed watching the squalls and storms pass over the bay from inside the retreat.

The third bedroom was locked when we were there because we weren't using it, so I imagine that one is used even less and will be just as stuffy, if not worse.

The bed itself was also very cheap and way too soft, there was no support, we couldn't get comfortable and my back was killing me.

The main bedroom was apparently fine, but if you're considering staying here with more than 2 people (it's a 3-bedroom house), I hope you don't mind sagging mattresses and recommend you demand fresh linen on all the beds just before your arrival.

Unlike Micky, we found all the bedrooms well aired and the beds comfortable. We did use the bedroom wall heaters for one of the cooler nights. We would have liked to have stayed longer and will definitely be going back.

Unfortunately, we hardly slept that night because the bedroom and linen were very stuffy, we opened the window but couldn't get rid of that old, musty smell. We were the couple sleeping in the 2nd bedroom. I think the room had been closed and not used for weeks, if not months, and no fresh sheets had been put on the bed before our arrival. We both had trouble breathing and swallowing because the stuffiness blocked our throats and noses.
