  I had the pleasure of staying at Freycinet on the Bay with my wife and 2 children recently and had the most relaxing holiday in a long time. The accommodation was spotless and everything we could think of was provided for. BBQs on the deck at sunset looking out over the Hazards was breathtaking and a perfect way to wind down after a day of exploring this beautiful area. There was heaps of room indoors for the kids to play, and a wood heater for mum and dad to sit around and enjoy a glass of wine : ) Close proximity to the beach and local shops made this the ideal location. And the take home "Freycinet on the Bay" carry bag was a lovely gesture in recognition of Coles Bay being the first town in Australia to ban the plastic shopping bags to help preserve this pristine environment. Will definitely be returning sometime in the future to explore some more of this area, and will be having another relaxing stay at this accommodation.

  4 of us stayed there for 3 nights in late October 2014. The combustion heater was out of order, the fridge didn't work and the cook top ignition switch was unservicable and we had to use matches to ignite the gas. We did get the use of an Engles fridge from the care taker but it was small & we couldn't fit all of our supplies in it.

  I must admit I was shocked on the condition. House not cleaned properly. Kitchen drawer latches broken, frying pans not fit to cook in, no hanging space in two bedrooms, no wardrobes at all. The BBQ did not have gas to cook one meal. If it weren't for the view, this place would offer little. Does not supply any decent cleaning clothes or scrubbers so you feel a bit cheated. Have stayed in lovely houses with great views that were similar in price. Even outside furniture was camping furniture that was dirty. Not happy.. No stars for this place. Could do a little more to bring it up to acceptable.

  I was shocked and shamed and did not believe that it was the Holiday home I booked directly calling “Freycinet Holiday Houses” to celebrate my wife’s 50th B’day. At the front of the house, it looked like a deserted shed. Inside the house was very smelly and could not stand it. Even though it was freezing cold, we had to leave all the windows and doors open to get some fresh air, which did little to eliminate the smell. Then we realized that there is no hot water. I tried to call the helpline and it went directly to msg bank.

  Bed linen provided was not up to any standard. Reddish dark coverlets felt very moistened and dirty. Had to go through all rooms hunting for power extensions to connect electric heater panels.

  The place was not clean, and we needed to sweep all of the floors. The skylights in the bathroom had large spider webs in them. We were only allowed access to 2 bedrooms as the other 2 were locked.

  I’d to call back on the following day, as I didn’t get a call back for the message left with the Freycinet Holiday Houses, which manages premises. Initial response for lack of hot water was that “Hot water system cannot supply hot water for four adults” (Advertisement says ‘the house sleeps eight’). After strong rejection, a Plumber was sent to check the system and he found Leaking Hot water cylinder and a faulty valve. The hot-water system was repaired 1.5 days later. Water supply to the house was cut on the following day morning for repairs leaving us without water.
